Sales

Warranty

If a typewriter purchased from us starts acting up or something breaks within 60 days of purchase, bring it back to us and we’ll get it in working order at no charge to you.

If something goes wrong with a machine you bought from us after 60 days of purchase, contact us for a repair quote.

Return Policy

You can return your typewriter for a full refund within 30 days of purchase if it’s in the same condition in which you purchased it.

Ribbons

If you buy a ribbon from us, we’ll install it on your machine, including re-spooling it onto your typewriter’s original spools if you want, at no charge.


Service and Repair

Time

Depending on how busy we are, it may take between six and eight weeks for us to complete the service or repair on your typewriter. If you really can’t wait that long for your machine to be fixed, contact us and we can try to work with you on a solution.

Machines left at the shop for more than 90 days after work is finished become the property of Type Townsend. We don’t take a deposit when you drop off your machine — your typewriter is your collateral.

Warranty

We offer a warranty on any service or repair for 60 days after you pick up your machine. If something goes wrong within those 60 days, bring it back to us and we’ll get it working for you at no charge.

Changes

We’ll quote you an estimated price when you bring your typewriter in for service. If, while we’re working on your machine, we notice a problem that will cost more to fix (something that will take more time or require a new part, for example), we will call you to discuss what you’d like to do before we proceed.
